Entering a new year, and a new phase

These past few months have been emotionally difficult but as I look forward to the beginning of a new year, I can't help but feel a little but excited about entering a new phase in my life.  For the first time (ever!) I am living on my own. I'm slowly getting settled into my new place and it's beginning to feel like home. I'm sure there will be bumps along the road, as there always are, but I hope that the "bumps" in my life lead me to continue to grow & change for the better!

Some of the "new" things in my life include:
New apartment on 11/10/12
New furniture on 12/1/12
New haircut on 12/10/12 (completing a goal!)
New goals completed (found my Grandma's short stories that I've been looking for/wondering about for the past 10 years!  I'm just waiting for my dad to scan/send them to me!)

Also, in a few months, I will hopefully (!) know about a new work position.  I'm currently in the midst of applying for postdoctoral programs (actually, I'm currently procrastinating by updating my blog!). Once I finish my dissertation and internship, I will officially be done with my degree (yipee!)  But, I am hoping to complete one additional year of training (beginning in Sept '13) which will allow me to build skills in the specialty area I want to focus on (PTSD with Veterans) and will also allow me to complete the supervised clinical hours that I need to have before I can apply for licensure.  This educational journey has certainly been a long and difficult road, and there are still a few hurdles ahead of me, but the work I am doing is greatly rewarding and I wouldn't change anything about what I am doing!
