Part of my problem was figuring out what to buy... somehow, living in California for almost 8 years has made me forget how to dress myself in cold weather-- I've come to believe that tank tops layered with a light sweater should be appropriate year round! :) I suppose it only makes matters worse that the vast majority of my interviews are in locations that are VERY likely to have snow/ice during the month of January!!

This is a long way of saying that I decided to get a pair of boots along with the new suit I was shopping for. (those who know me well will laugh--- an interview invitation gently reminded applicants to wear appropriate coats/boots and to not worry about fashion- meaning spiky high heels which I don't wear anyhow.... needless to say, it wasn't until I saw a classmate at school the other day that I realized that by boots they meant "leather-type lady boots", not the puffy snow galoshes I was imagining!!! haha!)
Yesterday, I stopped by a department store to look at shoes, and noticed that they were having a doorbusters sale (lasting only for the next 2 hrs) and surprisingly I found a pair of boots that I liked! The heel is taller than I normally wear- but it is thick & sturdy (and hopefully unlikely to cause me to tumble down in the snow!) the best part was they were 60% off! yippee!! Today, I had similar luck when going to a store where I've bought a suit/professional clothes in the past-- "today only" the entire store was 40% off! I walked out with a new suit, and 3 shirts (tank tops- I couldn't help myself!) to wear underneath! Of course, the cynic in me thinks of how much stores like this are normally ripping me/everyone off, but the rest of me is trying to be grateful for randomly being inspired to shop (and braving the crowds) during time-limited sales!

I absolutely abhor shopping, too! Especially when it involves clothes shopping for me. A dreadful process. Now you just need to post a picture of you dressed in your new suit and boots = )
I've tried on too many clothes today, and can't bring myself to change once again... but, once I get the pants hemmed I'll try to remember to take/post a picture! :) Thanks for reading my blog- I was wondering who (if anyone) was paying attention to my ramblings! :)
